Irish rockers Screaming Eagles to release new album “From the Flames” 15 May via Off Yer Rocka Recordings.

Band biography

Screaming Eagles are a Northern Ireland based rock ‘n’ roll band influenced by the likes of AC/DC, Airbourne, Audioslave and Black Stone Cherry. The band formed in 2012 and quickly got to work on crafting an albums-worth of full throttle rock songs for their debut release. They entered the studio in late 2012 to capture their raw and riff-heavy live act onto record in an intense 10-day recording session surrounded by Marshall stacks and fuelled by cheap wine. Their debut album “From The Flames” was recorded and produced by Ross Cullen at Railway Studios, Lisburn, Co. Antrim and mastered by Mark Chalecki at Little Red Book Mastering, California (Rhino Bucket, Booker T. Jones, The Brian Jonestown Massacre).

It is rare that a recently formed band can come up with a debut album as diverse and hard rockin’ as “From The Flames”. Yet that is exactly what Screaming Eagles have done. With Chris Fry’s powerhouse, bluesy tones, Adrian McAleenan’s power chord and riff combo, Ryan Lilly’s thumping bass lines and Kyle Cruikshank hitting the drums harder than a lumberjack chops a tree, Screaming Eagles have delivered a debut album that reflects the bands focus on song-writing and diverse musical taste. From influences such as AC/DC, Airbourne (check out All The Way, Down The River), Black Stone Cherry (Devil in the Dust) and their own take on dark, moody delta blues (Vampire) the album intrigues and ropes in a wide of rock music-lovers.

Live show

The Irish rockers have been ripping up a storm since the release of their debut album in early 2013 with their kick-ass live show. They have started 2014 with a bang with supporting The Answer, playing with Uriah Heep and Blue Oyster Cult at the “Giants of Rock” festival in Somerset and playing to a capacity audience on their home turf in Belfast, N. Ireland.

The band also recently won “Highway To Hell 4”, a UK wide battle of the bands competition, held in Glasgow and run by the people behind Hard Rock Hell. As a result the band opened the main stage at Hard Rock Hell in Wales on November 29th sharing the bill with Airbourne, Black Star Riders and The Answer. The reaction to the bands performance at Hard Rock Hell has been fantastic with many in attendance saying they were one of the best live acts of the festival. In addition they sold the most merchandise of any band on the first day of the festival.

Classic Rock radio said of their performance “Screaming Eagles had the audience behind them all the way, there were more horns in the air than a cattle stampede as they hammered out heavier than hell rock. You can put them down on your list of bands to see, I promise they will not disappoint”..

Having recently signed a management deal with Rock Artist Management, the band are currently organising further UK and European dates for 2014.

They have released a video for their first single “Rock N Roll Soul” on the 28th October 2013. It was premiered on the Classic Rock website and in the first week had been viewed almost 7000 times on YouTube. The reaction to the video has been awesome with plenty of buzz on Twitter and Facebook. - Official video for Rock N Roll Soul

They’re currently causing quite a stir in the UK with the Classic Rock magazine editors and have featured on the covermount CD which accompanied the recent edition (Black Sabbath cover) and are also on the covermount CD of a recent edition of “Classic Rock Presents AOR” magazine.

Of the track, “Rock N Roll Soul” Classic Rock mag, wrote:
“Finally, here’s a defiant sounding cri de Coeur from these Northern Irish newcomers. “Rock N Roll Soul” is one of the stand-outs on the bands self-released debut “From The Flames”. Think AC/DC fronted by a Paul Rodgers-style vocalist and you’re somewhere in the neighbourhood”.

Of their album, “From The Flames” Classic Rock Presents AOR wrote:
“Their debut LP – which plays rock’n’roll with blunt brilliance, topped off by the soulful vocals of frontman Chris Fry  is absolutely smokin’, hotter than hell, the work of a group burning up with fiery ambition”.

Band lineup:

CHRIS FRY – Vocals
