Today sees the announcement of 12 crushing bands to join headliners Savage Messiah, Martyr Defiled, Meta-Stasis and Ingested at the return of Brighton’s most bruising event MAMMOTHFEST 2014.
Collapse, Mask of Judas, Abhorrent Decimation, Cambion, Nexilva, Divine Chaos, Foetal Juice, Collisions, No Sin Escapes His Gaze, Mordecai, Aeolist and Premature Birth will destroy The Green Door Store, Brighton over the weekend of Sat 30th – Sun 31st August. With at least 6 more acts still to be confirmed, Mammothfest are looking to claim one of the heaviest line-ups of the year.
Among the announcements are London based Collapse, who have recently released their debut album ‘Arms and the Covenant’ with backing from the likes of Metal Hammer and Terrorizer. Their hybrid mix of traditional European melodic and U.S thrash groove metal has their own unique twist, and they mean business.
Collapse guitarist Andrew Ongley commented: ‘What an amazing privilege for us to be asked to play this year’s Mammothfest, the previous line-up was off the hook but this one is going to be absolutely killer. The winter storms have got nothing on the damage the South Coast is gonna get this time.’
Also in the line-up are Abhorrent Decimation. Fairly new to the UK metal scene, these death merchants are ferocious in their attack on any stage. Recently touring with Hour of Penance on a UK tour, Mammothfest will see them return to The Green Door Store ready to hit the kill switch.
Abhorrent Decimation Vocalist Ashley Scott commented: “We’re very happy to join the line-up for the 2014′s Mammothfest. Some great bands have been announced already and it will be great to share the stage with some old friends and faces again. It’s cool to have the opportunity to work with the Mammoth Crew as they build something special for the UK’s metal community. We are going to be playing some new material at this date as we prepare to select tracks for our full length. So be there and we will see you in the pit”.
These two bands, plus the other 10 announced today are ready to show off metal at its finest, whether it’s the tech-death approach of Cambion and Nexilva; the tech mechanics of Mask Of Judas, or Aeolist; the thrash attack from Divine Chaos; black death from Premature Birth; the un-categorisable diversity of No Sin Evades His Gaze; dub-metal infusions from Collisions, or the classic metal riffage of Mordecai, this is a full on event demonstrating the best in heavy-as-fuck music. There is a real buzz about and anticipation for Mammothfest 2014, with all the bands ready to rip, including grind masters Feotal Juice whose drummer Rob Harris echoed the sentiments of Andrew Ongley exactly: “It’s an absolute honour to be playing Mammothfest this Year. Judging by the line-up of the last one it will be an absolutely amazing event. We have heard nothing but good things about this festival as a whole! I can’t wait to see what talent they have got in store this year!!”
Mammothfest is also pleased to announce that it will be extending its early weekend ticket price deal until Monday 26th May following this announcement – meaning you can still pick up a ticket for both days for just £15. Not only that, the event has just set up a new partnership with Vanitas Direct (The New Force In Metal Merchandise), from who tickets are now available at http://vanitasdirect.com/556-mammothfest.
It doesn’t stop there. As part of Mammothfest’s focus of building a community spirit, the festival is reaching out into the community supporting alternative bars and venues by running a bar competition at a number of venues to win a weekend ticket! By drinking at a participating bar and just say ‘Mammothfest’ to get your name in a jar, metal heads could be in with a chance of winning. Most names in the jar by Friday 1st August wins. Bars currently signed up include Buskers Bar (Eastbourne), The Caroline of Brunswick (Brighton) and Bar 42 (Worthing). Any bars, pubs or venues around the country who want to get involved are being urged to email email@example.com.
