Last Great Dreamers
announce UK tours
in March & April
with
The Quireboys
Bang Tango

Last Great Dreamers kick off 2017 in style and are confirmed as special guests on two UK tours - The Quireboys and Bang Tango.
“We are very excited to be going out on both of these tours, performing live is what it’s all about for us so having two excellent tour opportunities in March & April with a total of 22 shows is fantastic!  Our set will be a bit shorter than our usual headline set so we will be trying to cram in as many stage favourites as we can plus a decent selection off our new album Transmissions From Oblivion!” Fans can expect “an energy fuelled, high octane performance full of the usual Dreamers’ style & charisma! Plus we always enjoy meeting the fans afterwards without whom we wouldn’t be doing this!”

“The Quireboys, along with Dogs D’amour & Hanoi Rocks before them, kind of led the way for us back in the late 80s, I first saw The Quireboys at Reading Festival on their 1st single & coincidently ended up on the rear cover of their 2nd single in a crowd shot taken at the show!  They have always been a great rock’n’roll band with real party atmosphere at their gigs, I’ve seen them live on several occasions over the years & got to know some of the band quite well back in the 90s. This tour is the perfect fit for us because of that history we share, not that the bands sound that similar but the image & attitude come from a similar place.” – Slyder – Last Great Dreamers

Last Great Dreamers are also special guests on the Bang Tango UK Tour in March; they actually toured together in UK & Europe in 1995 “It was our first support tour after releasing our debut album Retrosexual & we had a fantastic time. It will be great to go out with them again after all these years; they have a great reputation as a live band & are great guys!” - Slyder, Last Great Dreamers
Last Great Dreamers new album Transmissions From Oblivion is an energetic yet sensitive album that celebrates music and storytelling, 14 finely crafted songs overflowing with rock’n’roll attitude, emotion and glamour.
With no calculated image or reliance on nostalgia Last Great Dreamers have honestly created an album that is full of romantic bravado and the perfect manifestation of their immutable wit, sadness, quiet anger and charm. Transmissions From Oblivion feted by the critics and adored by fans includes the singles Glitterball Apocalypse, which documents the tragedies of rock n roll, the raucous Dope School, earning No2 song of the year 2016 on TBFM radio network, and the flamboyant yet urgent power-pop classic Oblivion Kids.
Feast your eyes now on the videos for – the fabulous Oblivion Kids, which perfectly encapsulates the essence of youth : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aoSGedSDQYI&feature=youtu.be
and – the boisterous & dark Dope School : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=leScEjLWdsQ

Reviews:
“they uncork a suitably defiant romp, boosted by Clash-style harmonies, Slyder’s skid-mark guitar salvos & Marc Valentine’s animated yelp…The band’s experience hot-wires Oblivion Kids, Glitterball Apocalypse & Dope School while You Don’t Work shines as a blast of Doll-style attitude”
Classic Rock
“Just when you thought those super-cool and hard-rockin’ Last Great Dreamers cannot possibly surpass themselves, along comes yet another scorching album comprised of 14 tracks that will cement the band’s reputation as one of Britain’s finest. ” 5*
“Is it glam, rock, punk, new wave, a little sleazy? Whichever label you use it’s a lot of fun. Transmissions From Oblivion is a nostalgic slice of glam punk brought expertly into the modern age”
This album conforms to no modern music boundaries and it cares not one jot for any modern internet obsessed world. A gloriously dishevelled comeback from a band who should have never gone away.
“Full of melody and charm …as relevant now as they have ever been. In fact, we hope it will be equally as relevant in 10/20 years’ time. This is really a triumphant return for a band that truly deserves a place in your heart.”
“they stick to what they know, which is namely this: how to write souped-up stomping rock n roll, with a linear route from bands like T-Rex, artists like David Bowie, through to 1990s contemporaries such as the Senseless Things and Honeycrack better than anyone else right now.”
“Songs that should totally kill live”
“Pull on yer glitter stack heels coz those dandies from the underground, Last Great Dreamers, are back in town – having been away for nigh on 20 years – with a brand new long player for your aural immersion.”
“Last Great Dreamers have returned with a blast with this corker of an album.”
“Transmissions From Oblivion is a fantastic album packed with lots of different elements and these guys are even better live.”
In short, Last Great Dreamers are back, properly back, from oblivion. And I can’t imagine them transmitting on a more resonant frequency.
Last Great Dreamers is
