Dan Reed has confirmed in an exclusive interview with Rock N’ Load that the five original members of the Dan Reed Network will enter the studio in 2015 to record their first album since 1991′s The Heat.
You can watch the full interview with Dan below, but here’s an excerpt of what the singer had to say.
On the writing and recording of the new album:
Dan: “We’re really having a great time being back together and that has lead us onto the idea of wanting to make a new record. It’s not something we’re going to spend nine months on the road doing, but we’re definitely excited about getting back in the studio and seeing what a DRN record will sound like 20 years later. I’ve been writing some heavier stuff for my solo material but I’m going to transfer that over to the Network and send some demo’s to the rest of the guys. The lyrics are a lot darker and heavier too. We hope to record it in the summer of 2015 and have it released in the fall.”
Between 1987 and 1991 the Network recorded three albums, Dan Reed Network (1987), Slam (1989) and The Heat (1991). The band also toured Europe in 1989/1990 to support Bon Jovi and the Rolling Stones. In 1993 the band members agreed to take a hiatus, and then, almost twenty years later reunited for a one off performance in their hometown of Portland, Oregon on New Years Eve 2012. That culminated in headlining the inaugural Enchanted Festival in Chelsmsford, Essex in October 2013, a European tour and headlining the Red Bull Stage at Download 2014.
